9-10-11

Yesterday this little girl turned eight months old.

and last Saturday, September 10, 2011 we welcomed her into God's family as a child of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism.

With the congregation of Trinity Lutheran, Camp Hill and 30 of our closest friends and family we put a cross on that girls forehead and promised to raise her among God's Faithful people, to teach her about the trinity and read her scripture.

We promised to nurture her faith, and to care for others and the world God made.

We promised to teach her to trust in God. To proclaim God's word. To work for justice and peace in the world.

We were empowered by the spirit to nuture this little person and to help her to grow up within the community of believers.

how completely awesome is that?

I learn about this regularly in class.

but Holy cow, when it's your own it's such an emotional responsibility.

Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

After the service we were joined by those 30 people for a fantastic dinner celebration at Herby's El Mexicano.

Celebration it was indeed.

I had so much fun that I forgot to get out the camera.

You are a child of God, Sophia Jane.

and we will forever remember 9-10-11 as your splash day.
